Two of the region's best-known treks start right past our doorstep.
Naneghat is a mountain pass on the ancient trade route in Maharashtra, connecting the old town of Jirnanagar (Junnar) with the Konkan. Sopara and Kalyan were once its major trading centres, carrying both internal and foreign trade through this very pass.
Jivdhan (Jeevdhan) is a hill fortress about 45 km from Narayangaon in Junnar Taluka, Pune district. Rising 1,145 metres above sea level in the Sahyadri range, it's one of the more demanding climbs in the region — and a favourite among serious trekkers.
